DO SHOCK BOOZE (alias. YOICHI HAYASHI)

熊本・阿蘇の自然で育まれた感性と、都市・東京のアンダーグラウンド。その交差点に立つのが、林洋一のDJ / LIVEプロジェクト「DO SHOCK BOOZE」だ。

「動植物」という言葉に由来するその名の通り、奏でられる音楽には生命の力強さが宿っている。

1990年代後半から制作活動を続け、国内外のレーベルから作品を発表。テクノ、トライバル、ベースミュージック、エクスペリメンタルなどを自在に織り交ぜるプレイスタイルは、予測不能でありながらも、常に独自の美学に貫かれている。

自身のレーベル〈TOTEM TRAXX〉の主宰や、イベント「MEiYOU」のプロデュースを通じて、音楽とビジュアルの両面から空間をキュレート。 野外フェスからクラブまで、彼が創り出すのは多様な個性が溶け合う祝祭のサイケデリアだ。

その音は、現代において失われがちな「内なる野生」を静かに呼び覚ましていくようである。


The sensibilities nurtured by the nature of Aso, Kumamoto, meet the urban underground of Tokyo. Standing at this intersection is DO SHOCK BOOZE, the DJ/Live project of Yoichi Hayashi.

True to its name—derived from the Japanese word for "Flora and Fauna" (doshokubutsu)—the music is imbued with a raw, vital energy. Since beginning his career in the late 1990s, he has released works through various domestic and international labels.

His style seamlessly weaves together techno, tribal, bass music, and experimental sounds; it is unpredictable, yet guided by a singular, consistent aesthetic.

As the head of his own label, TOTEM TRAXX, and producer of the event series MEiYOU, he curates immersive environments through both sound and visuals.

From outdoor festivals to intimate club gigs, the spaces he creates are a "psychedelia of celebration" where diverse identities dissolve and merge. His sound seems to quietly awaken the "inner wild" that is so often lost in the modern world.
