DO SHOCK BOOZE

DO SHOCK BOOZE is the DJ and live project of Yoichi Hayashi, standing at the intersection of his roots in the deep greens of Aso, Kumamoto, and the urban underground of Tokyo.

True to the project's name—derived from doshokubutsu, the Japanese word for flora and fauna—his music carries a powerful, living energy.

He began producing tracks in the late 1990s alongside playing in bands, releasing music through both domestic and international labels. In 2010, he founded TOTEM TRAXX, one of Japan's leading techno labels, and in 2023, launched GLOBAL ARK RECORDINGS, a label derived from the outdoor festival.

Then, in 2025, shedding his past, he forged a musical style. Seamlessly blending techno, tribal, bass music, and experimental sounds, his unpredictable style is always guided by his own distinct aesthetic.

Through his label TOTEM TRAXX and the event MEiYOU, he curates immersive spaces that sharpen the senses of listening and dancing.

From outdoor festivals to clubs, he creates a celebratory psychedelia where diverse individuals merge.

His sound quietly awakens the "inner wild" that is so easily lost in the modern world.

緑深い熊本県・阿蘇のルーツと都市のアンダーグラウンド。その交差点に立つのが、林洋一のDJ/LIVEプロジェクト「DO SHOCK BOOZE」だ。

「動植物」という言葉に由来するその名の通り、奏でられる音楽には生命の力強さが宿っている。

1990年代後半からバンド活動と並行して楽曲制作を開始、国内外のレーベルから作品を発表。2010年に日本でも有数のテクノレーベル「TOTEM TRAXX」、2023年には野外フェスティバルから派生した「GLOBAL ARK RECORDINGS」を設立。

そして2025年、過去の経験と新たな環境の中で得た、テクノ、トライバル、ベースミュージック、エクスペリメンタルなどを自在に織り交ぜるプレイスタイルは、予測不能でありながらも、常に独自の美学に貫かれている。

自身のレーベルや主宰イベント「MEiYOU」のプロデュースを通じて、「聴く」「踊る」という感覚を研ぎ澄ます没入空間をキュレート。

彼が創り出すのは多様な個性が溶け合う祝祭のサイケデリアであり、現代において失われがちな「内なる野生」を静かに呼び覚ましていくようである。
